How do I add a student profile?

On the profile selection screen, tap “Add Profile” and enter the student’s name. Each profile tracks progress independently — great for siblings sharing a device.

How do I switch between students?

Tap the profile icon in the top corner of the home screen to return to the profile selection screen and choose a different student.

What word lists are included?

The app includes Kindergarten through 6th Grade word lists, each divided into four quarters. Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grade are free; 3rd through 6th Grade are part of Sight Words Pro. The Kindergarten and 3rd–6th Grade lists are drawn from the Dolch and Fry high-frequency word lists commonly used in elementary schools; the 1st and 2nd Grade lists follow an elementary classroom’s nine-week sequence. Some words appear in more than one grade on purpose — later grades review earlier ones, and each grade tracks its own progress.

What practice modes are available?

Flashcards and Quiz are always free. Sight Words Pro unlocks Spelling, Sentence Fill-in, Sentence Spelling, Speed Round, and Word Tracing.

What does Sight Words Pro include?

Pro is a one-time purchase ($3.99) that unlocks all practice modes, the 3rd–6th Grade word decks, custom word decks and CSV import, detailed progress analytics, all accent themes, and support for more than 2 student profiles. iCloud sync is not a Pro feature — it works for everyone.

How do I restore my Pro purchase?

Open Sight Words → Settings → Restore Purchases. Make sure you’re signed into the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

Progress isn’t syncing across devices. What do I do?

Sight Words syncs via iCloud. Make sure iCloud is enabled on both devices under Settings → Apple ID → iCloud. It may take a few minutes for changes to appear.

Can I create custom word lists?

Yes. Tap “Custom Decks” on the home screen to create your own word sets — great for spelling tests or school vocabulary. Custom deck management requires Sight Words Pro.

How do I reset a student’s progress?

Go to Settings → select the profile → Reset Progress. This clears all word history and achievements for that profile.

The words are read in a robotic voice. Can I change it?

The app uses your device’s built-in text-to-speech. Download higher-quality voices at Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices on your iPhone or iPad.
